BENEFITS

Comprehensive joint support formula for athletes and active lifestyles

Regular training doesn't just load your muscles – your joints, tendons, ligaments and other connective tissues are under constant stress too. In running, every stride is a repetitive mechanical impact, while in cycling, triathlon, strength training or long races it is the high training volume that matters most.

Tissue Rejuvenator was created for athletes who want to support this load with a comprehensive joint formula they can take every day. One serving (4 capsules) provides the classic glucosamine–chondroitin–MSM combination, complemented by undenatured type II UC-II™ collagen, plant extracts and an enzyme blend.

A two-part formula

The formula consists of two complementary parts:

  • Building blocks: glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, MSM and UC-II™ collagen – natural components of cartilage and connective tissue, or the raw materials for them.
  • Plant extracts and enzymes: Boswellia serrata, devil's claw, yucca root, turmeric, quercetin and black pepper extract, plus a blend of eight enzymes.

The building blocks do their job with regular, longer-term use, which is why the manufacturer recommends continuous daily use.

What's in one serving (4 capsules)?

  • 500 mg glucosamine sulfate
  • 500 mg chondroitin sulfate
  • 500 mg MSM (methylsulfonylmethane)
  • 400 mg enzyme blend (peptidase, papain, bromelain, phytase, amylase, cellulase, protease, lipase)
  • 400 mg Boswellia serrata
  • 200 mg devil's claw
  • 100 mg yucca root
  • 100 mg turmeric root extract
  • 20 mg quercetin
  • 6 mg black pepper extract (BioPerine™)
  • 5 mg undenatured type II collagen (UC-II™)

Who is it for?

Tissue Rejuvenator can be a particularly good choice if you:

  • run, cycle, do triathlon or strength train regularly;
  • train with a high weekly volume or complete long sessions, even over three hours;
  • compete in multi-day events;
  • are still active in sport over the age of 40;
  • want to look after your joints and connective tissues for the long term.

How to use it

For general, preventive use we recommend 2 capsules twice a day. Consistency matters, so make it part of your daily routine. You'll find the manufacturer's recommendation for the period after an injury or surgery on the How to Use tab – in that case, agree on the dosage with your doctor.

Good to know

The glucosamine sulfate is derived from the shells of crustaceans, and the product also contains milk. If you are allergic to crustaceans, ask your doctor before use.

The chondroitin is of bovine origin and the UC-II™ collagen is made from chicken cartilage, so Tissue Rejuvenator is not vegan. For a plant-based alternative, choose Vegan Tissue Rejuvenator.

One bottle contains 120 capsules – at 4 capsules a day, that's 30 servings, or a one-month supply.

TISSUE REJUVENATOR FAQS

What do you recommend for recovery after a bone fracture and for maintaining bone strength?

The manufacturer recommends the following supplements, whose nutrients contribute to the normal condition of bones and connective tissues. In case of a bone fracture, always discuss the use of supplements with your doctor.

1) Premium Insurance Caps – Many nutrients play a role in maintaining bones and overall health: vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin B6, magnesium, calcium, selenium, zinc and many more. Suggested use: 2 capsules 2–3 times a day.

2) Essential Mg – For a long time it was believed that bones mainly need plenty of calcium. Calcium is indeed important, but magnesium is at least as important: magnesium contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and also plays a role in calcium utilization. In one of his articles, Hammer Nutrition expert Steve Born cites a 20-year study involving nearly 2,250 middle-aged men: participants with higher blood magnesium levels had a 44% lower incidence of bone fractures. Essential Mg contains five well-absorbed forms of magnesium. Suggested use: 2 capsules in the morning, 1 at lunchtime or early afternoon and 1–2 before bed. Read the full article: Magnesium: The most important mineral for bone health.

3) EnDuro D – Vitamin D3 contributes to the normal absorption and utilization of calcium and to the maintenance of normal bones. Working together with vitamin D3, vitamin K2 activates a protein called osteocalcin, which helps incorporate calcium into the bones (and teeth). Suggested use: 1 capsule a day; in the period after a bone injury, 1 capsule twice a day.

4) Boron – The trace element boron plays a role in the bone-building processes of calcium, magnesium and vitamin D; according to studies, adequate boron intake reduces the urinary excretion of calcium and magnesium. Suggested use: the same as for EnDuro D.

5) Whey Protein – Protein contributes to the maintenance of normal bones. Roughly half of bone volume is a protein-based matrix into which mineral crystals are built; after a fracture, the body needs protein building blocks to build new matrix. Particularly important amino acids are lysine, arginine, proline, glycine, cystine and glutamine. Suggested use: 1 scoop with water before bed, plus another ½–1 scoop during the day as needed (for example in a fruit smoothie).

6) Tissue Rejuvenator – Although it doesn't target the bones directly, the formula targets the connective tissues surrounding them. Suggested use: 2 capsules twice a day.

7) LSA Caps – Selenium contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress; low levels have been associated with lower bone mineral density. 2–4 capsules of Premium Insurance Caps (57–86 µg selenium) plus 4 capsules of LSA Caps (100 µg selenium) a day provide an ideal amount.

Are the ingredients in Tissue Rejuvenator derived from crustaceans?

Glucosamine sulfate is usually made from the shells of crustaceans; the vast majority of joint supplements containing glucosamine – Tissue Rejuvenator included – use glucosamine sulfate from this source. Because the glucosamine is extracted from the animals' shells, while the allergen is found in their flesh, it may be (the emphasis is on "may") that Tissue Rejuvenator is safe even for people who are allergic to crustaceans. Nevertheless, if you are allergic to crustaceans, we strongly recommend that you consult your doctor before using Tissue Rejuvenator or any other supplement containing glucosamine sulfate.

While some manufacturers still obtain chondroitin sulfate from shark cartilage, Hammer Nutrition uses only highly purified and sterilized, 100% BSE-free (bovine spongiform encephalopathy) bovine chondroitin sulfate produced in the United States.

If you're looking for a version completely free of animal ingredients, choose Vegan Tissue Rejuvenator: it contains no ingredients derived from crustaceans or other animals.

What is the difference between Tissue Rejuvenator and Vegan Tissue Rejuvenator?

Both products contain the same amounts of glucosamine sulfate (500 mg), MSM (500 mg), enzyme blend (400 mg), Boswellia serrata (400 mg), devil's claw (200 mg), yucca root (100 mg), turmeric root extract (100 mg), quercetin (20 mg) and black pepper extract (6 mg) per serving (4 capsules).

  • Tissue Rejuvenator: glucosamine from crustaceans, 500 mg bovine chondroitin sulfate and 5 mg UC-II™ collagen (from chicken cartilage). Contains crustaceans and milk.
  • Vegan Tissue Rejuvenator: GreenGrown® glucosamine from non-GMO corn and, instead of chondroitin and collagen, 200 mg horsetail leaf (a plant source of silicon) and 80 mg hyaluronic acid. Made exclusively from plant-based ingredients.

Does Hammer have a supplement that supports collagen production?

Hammer doesn't currently make a standalone collagen supplement, but several of its products contain the nutrients involved in the body's own collagen formation:

1) Vitamin C (Endurance C) contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage, bones, skin and blood vessels – without it, the body cannot produce collagen.

2) Copper (Premium Insurance Caps) contributes to the maintenance of normal connective tissues, and zinc also acts as a cofactor in the process.

3) Building collagen requires the amino acids lysine, glycine and proline. Gram for gram, Whey Protein contains the most of these, though plant proteins are not far behind.

4) The type II collagen in Tissue Rejuvenator is itself a protein built from amino acid chains, including glycine and proline. The horsetail leaf in Vegan Tissue Rejuvenator is a plant source of the trace element silicon.

Are Hammer supplements tested by an independent laboratory?

Yes. All Hammer Nutrition supplements are also tested by an independent third party in accordance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations for dietary supplements (21 CFR Part 111). Every raw material is tested for purity, potency, identity and integrity. Beyond the raw materials, the products are also checked at every stage of production – blending, encapsulation or powder filling, packaging materials and finished product – before they are released for sale.

What does the manufacturing date (MFG) mean?

The label of Hammer Nutrition supplements shows the date of manufacture, marked MFG. The product retains its quality for 4 years from the date of manufacture if you store it in a cool, dry place, protected from excessive heat and direct sunlight. If the packaging shows an EXP (expiry) date, that date applies. After opening, always close the cap tightly.

HOW TO USE

Recommended daily intake: 4 capsules, in two doses (2 capsules twice a day), with plenty of fluid.

General, preventive use

2 capsules twice a day – even if you only occasionally experience discomfort or stiffness in your joints.

After an injury or surgery

The manufacturer's recommendation: 2–8 capsules a day, split into two or three doses, for 4–6 weeks, then 4 capsules a day. During this period, always agree on the dosage with your doctor.

For persistent joint complaints

The manufacturer's recommendation: at least 4 capsules a day. If you have an existing joint condition, discuss use with your doctor.

PRO TIPS

  • During periods of heavy training, combine it with oral (Broad-Spectrum CBD Softgels, CBD Tincture) and/or topical (Hammer CBD Balm) CBD.
  • Tissue Rejuvenator works gradually, so regular, continuous use is what matters most.
  • Contains glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). If you are allergic to crustaceans, consult your doctor before use.
  • The undenatured type II collagen (UC-II™) is included in a small 5 mg dose, which differs from the approach of hydrolyzed collagen peptides taken in large doses.
  • Vegan Tissue Rejuvenator contains no crustacean-derived ingredients and no undenatured type II collagen.

Tissue Rejuvenator and Vegan Tissue Rejuvenator – blog article

INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN

Glucosamine sulfate – An amino sugar obtained from the shells of crustaceans. It is the precursor of glycosaminoglycans, the natural components of cartilage.

Chondroitin sulfate – A sulfated glycosaminoglycan (a complex molecule made up of proteins and sugars) and one of the main components of cartilage. Hammer Nutrition uses only highly purified and sterilized, 100% BSE-free bovine chondroitin sulfate produced in the United States.

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) – An organic sulfur compound found naturally in many foods. Sulfur is an important component of connective tissue proteins, including collagen.

Boswellia serrata – A tree native to India, Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, also known as Indian frankincense; the extract is made from the tree's resin.

Devil's claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) – A herb native to southern Africa, traditionally used to support the joints and the musculoskeletal system.

Yucca root – The root of a shrub native to South America, also known as manioc or cassava root.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) root extract – A perennial plant of the ginger family; the spice that gives curry its yellow color.

Quercetin – A bioflavonoid found in onions, apples and leafy greens, among others. In Tissue Rejuvenator it is sourced from the Japanese pagoda tree (Sophora japonica).

Black pepper extract (BioPerine™) – A standardized extract from the fruit of black pepper (Piper nigrum).

Undenatured type II collagen (UC-II™) – A patented dietary ingredient from chicken sternum cartilage. It retains its original, undenatured structure, which is why it is included in a small 5 mg dose. UC-II™ is a trademark of InterHealth N.I.

Proprietary enzyme blend (peptidase, papain, bromelain, phytase, amylase, cellulase, protease, lipase) – A blend of digestive enzymes involved in breaking down proteins, carbohydrates, fats, plant fibers and phytates.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR PEOPLE WITH CRUSTACEAN ALLERGIES

Glucosamine sulfate is usually obtained from crustaceans; the vast majority of joint supplements containing glucosamine – Tissue Rejuvenator included – use glucosamine sulfate from this source. Because the glucosamine comes from the animals' shells, while the allergen is found in their flesh, it may be (the emphasis is on "may") that Tissue Rejuvenator is safe even for people who are allergic to crustaceans.

Still, following the "when in doubt, leave it out" principle, we strongly recommend that you consult your doctor before using Tissue Rejuvenator or any supplement containing glucosamine sulfate if you are allergic to crustaceans.
